Spring 2023 Release Notes

This month’s release is all about bringing a more secure directory to you (and your members). Read about the changes below …

RELEASED: Increased PDF Security

We’ve recently made an update to the Share PDF feature to increase the security of the PDF of your directory. This increased security makes it harder for others to find and view your directory, plus it allows you to turn off sharing at any moment.

As part of this increased security, if you generated a PDF link before February 2023, you will want to be sure you are using the latest links to ensure no interruption to your members.

To learn more, check out our help document on Sharing your PDF with your members.

RELEASED: Two-Factor Authentication for Member Apps

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a great tool for protecting your members’ accounts from unauthorized access.

You now have the option as an admin to turn on 2FA authentication for your directory.

With two-factor authentication, logging in from a new device, or after a period of inactivity, will require a member to enter a unique code during login.

When you set up 2FA on an admin Instant Church Directory account, the next time any member logs in, they will be prompted to verify their device.

Be sure to encourage members to always choose a strong password when creating online accounts on any platform, including their Instant Church Directory member login. A unique password should be used by each member. We recommend each member use a password generator or password manager to keep track of passwords, rather than using passwords that are short and simple. At all times it’s best to avoid using your church name, dates, initials or even common Scripture references as your password.

RELEASED: Easier Importing for Member Info and Photos

Now you will be able to import new member data and photos faster than ever before. This new upload experience will allow you to upload individual family member information, such as alternative last name, phone number, email and birthday information.

You will also be able to upload a CSV file with reference to photo file names. Then, when you import family photos they will automatically be matched to a family.

What’s Climbing our Roadmap

Here is a sneak peek at what’s coming up next on the Instant Church Directory roadmap:

Enhanced Exporting Features

This new export feature will allow you to choose from more fields you would like to export from, not just name and address.

Easier Family Editing

We are working hard to design an easier way to bulk update family and individual information without having to open each individual profile to do so.

Have a feature you want? Be sure to contact us with your request. We are a small team who are constantly grooming our roadmap to ensure we’re working on the features with the most votes or requests first.
